To be honest, they could not have paid anything anyway. Mother’s hobby was also her gift and she shared it with many in need.

ETHNIC DECORATING:

This type of interior decorating covers a wide range of decorating. Whether it would be Asian design or, African, or maybe Hawaiian. What ever the choice in design it would be relative to that area. Most of the time if this type of style is chosen it is because the person choosing it is from that area and wants that design to remind them of home.

COUNTRY:

There are many different sub styles for this one here. You have American Country, French Country, Country Cottage, and English Country. Each one is very unique in it’s own way. Not a lot of these items match and quite a lot of it has been distressed meaning that you can see the wear and tear in them. There is a lot of floral print, and other smaller print fabrics. There is also a knack for nick-knacks, alot of vintage pieces. and hardly ever will you see anything matching in these designs.

Texture, the next element, is the surface feeling or appearance of an object. Texture can appeal to the sense of touch or to the sense of sight—or both. Texture has many guises. It may be rough or smooth, prickly or pebbly, shiny or dull, soft or hard. Look around at the objects near you.

Textures may be a visual illusion. A tweed pattern printed on a smooth fabric or wallpaper may give the illusion of being “tweedy” in texture even though the surface is smooth. So the decorator must consider all textural possibilities—real or mock textures—when designing a room. How do the textures differ in appearance? Touch them. Is one more pleasing to the touch than another?

We respond to texture even more instinctively than we respond to color. A child feels texture even before he sees clearly. Some times though when financial limitations cause a slight change in what you want in and what you can actually afford. Going into debt over decorating is never a wise decision. Place the largest sofa piece against the longest wall of the room, then the smaller sections on the opposite side. If you have the smaller sections of the modular sofa face the long sofa at an angle, you will avoid that boring, boxy look that comes with having all furniture pieces pressed with their backs straight against a wall.
